The BIG Day

FREEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

Moving day!!!!!  Just imagine William Wallace running across a field in a kilt with an army behind him...that was me (without the kilt and just an army of Caitlin).  There is no other way to express how I felt that day.  It was a bit awkward leaving.  All the effort I went to make sure that I did everything that I could to leave on a good note, was thrown out the window by the mum as I was leaving.  I wished her good luck, and she blamed me for her life falling to pieces because she apparently can't continue her course, 'no Au Pair, no course!".  Well who does a degree that you don't need the same year that you have twins, when you already have two little girls to look after.  Just be a mum!  Anyway, rant over.  I packed up all my stuff, got it all in Caitlin's car and escaped with a feeling of Euphoria!

Freedom.........................

Before we take all my stuff to my new family,  Caitlin and I get Laura so we can explore a few markets.  We went to the market in Ferney that overtook the whole town! They were rather French, yet no matter where you go you always have people like Del Boy trying to make you spend everything you have in your pocket!  We had fun though, even got s few presants for family.

Mother Gothel............................

Weird Cherro sugar things.........

We then headed to Geneva and got the Tram into the middle of town to explore the MASSIVE second hand market there.  It was so interesting, full of antiques.

One of the many streets.............

It's the kind of place you should go to with something in mind to hunt while your there.  Some things were really cheap and others were ridiculously expensive.

Crazy felt hats, expensive!..........

I instantly spied the mustered...................

Did you know the Co op exists in Switzerland too?!  Caitlin stocked up on chocolate for her family there whilst we were out.  I found the ultimate chocolate amongst all the Swiss delights!!

Sorry I couldn't bring it home Dad............

The day still had more excitement to come in the form of a Mongolian Fete at Geneva chapel in the evening!  First we had to drop my things at my new place of residence, yay!!!  This did make a little late for the fete though.  There have been a lot of converts to the church from Mongolia in the area of late, so they organized an evening with Sister Chatterley for everyone from church and friends to learn more about their culture.  It was a great evening!  we got to see friends and eat food!  what more could you ask for?!

A traditional dance, we requested an encore because we were late and missed it the first time...............

The traditional food......................

At some point the giggles started.......

You get to meet a couple more people, this being Lindsey........

Sandwiched between Laura and Caitlin is Felicia.........

These two lovely ladies are amazing and great to hang out with of course!  Lindsey is from  Annemasse Ward.  She is a teaching English to secondary school age I think.  Felicia is in Geneva Ward and is here working at the U.N. I think, again?  Either way I love them!

The hyperness of Caitlin spread to the rest of us, probably more to just me and Laura though.  We had been walking around all day, having not eaten much, so a sudden influx of food, warmth and people perked us up, a little too much some would say.  Gladly our friends are good enough to just join in.

CAKE (sugar just made us worse)...........

The Elders face says it all.........

Even Sister Hawaii was joining us.......

Caitlin was cracking us all up, she couldn't stop laughing at stupid things, and we couldn't stop laughing at her.  This next photo is just for her.

'You are the ONE, we are the nighty nine.'...............

After we came down from our high and everyone was leaving to go home for the night, the YSA invited us to join them on a little night time walk around Geneva.  The wise option would have been lots of rest in bed.  But no, after a long delirious day of moving house, walking around different towns, shopping and going to a Fete where we laughed till we cried, we couldn't refuse an offer to make the day even better!

We just followed the crowd like sheep through the town.  It was a beautiful night, spending time with friends, getting to know each other better.  We first came across this really cool pavement filled with white blocks that had messages written on them in languages from all over the world.

A little bit of English.........

Laura jumping free on the international message board........

Still a little bit crazed girls?............

Yes, crazed........................

Old Town Geneva by night...........

 A canon of YSA's.................

 Night time glowing................

Does the lanterns remind anyone else of something?  Tangled!!!.........

A door to Narnia?.......................

 Wicker birds in the trees...............

Giant chess, Caitlin and I have to come back here to play........

A bit of Napoleon Dynamite........

Ye ha!!!.......................................

A real Swiss Knife!  In Switzerland!  Haha........

This was pretty much an amazing day!  Leave the hell hole, Shop in the markets, walk around Geneva, go to a Fete, have a laughing fit for two hours, walk around Geneva by night and all with great friends!  The night eneded at Caitlins, Zonked!

A bientôt!
