The Englishmen in France

Hello!!!

Yes I am alive, and what I am going to write about is old news...in that it happened about two months ago, and that is also how long I have been absent from my blog.  I did say last time that it would be a while till I was back, but that I WOULD be back!  So here I am!  I'll catch up on what is actually happening in my life right now in my next post.

Last time I was on here I signed off saying that I would be going home for 10 days, which I did, and it was great as always!  I got to see a bunch of friends and all my family and even attended an Olympic event!!!  I was so excited about that (it was the men's road race by the way, at Box hill) because I realised last year that I wasn't just missing the Queens Diamond Jubilee by being in Switzerland but also all the Olympic events! After deciding to extend my time here and holiday's were worked out officially around that, it all worked out nicely in the end! However like every time I have to leave to return to Switzerland again I feel like Ive not actually had enough time in the Mother land.  Lucky for me though I was just working another week before my family would come to pick me up before holidaying in France which would kick start my next three weeks of summer off!  Whoop Whoop!

I've decided to talk about my french family holiday (or mostly just show through photos)!  I was going to leave this out and just start up again when something of interest happened on my return to the Au Pair life after the summer (hence the long absence).  However seeing as my summer holidays did start with some of my family picking me up from Switzerland, and continued the fun for a week or so in France, I decided to included it after all.  We were all still in the same time zone as Switzerland!

My Mum and Dad and Ashley and Izzy cam to pick me up on a Sunday afternoon from my home in Geneva (having done the big drive from England across the sea to France the previous two days).  before we could just drive back to our holiday home for the week I had to show them a bit of Geneva first.  We stopped by at the U.N. (United Nations) where the fountains were in full flow.

Once we were in the beautiful Burgundy region of France with the rest of the family we fully enjoyed our time away from any responsibility of home!  Basically being really lazy all day and pretending that we were French (or just mocking everything French).  Of course in the process of all our malarkey everyone realised just how bad my French really is, seeing as I spent a year living amongst the natives taking lessons and all!

After our week in what felt like the middle of nowhere, we sadly had to leave our holiday home and hit the road, but were not going back to the real world yet!  Oh no!  We were going to stop in Paris for a couple of days first!  The first day held a BIG surprise for all the kids, whilst our last day in France would be spent climbing the Eiffel Tour before pegging it in the cars to catch our evening ferry to the home land

This was my sleeping space for many ours.......

Once back on English soil I had almost two weeks to enjoy of my holiday before flying back to Switzerland to start my extend Au Pair stay in Geneva!  Again I saw friends and family and had a fantastic time doing as many English things as I could!  As always though the time came around for me to board that orange Easy Jet plane again to leave my beloved home for the Landscape of Swiss Mountains!  I really am looking forward to going home for good! I'll enjoy my the time that I have still to come in Switzerland, of course!  However it will be so nice to not get that feeling of time suddenly running when I start packing my bag again!

The errrr......'real time' update will be on its way soon!
